THE ESA STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT FACILITY

The Stakeholder Engagement Facility (SEF) supports the uptake of Earth Observation data by expanding engagement with a diverse range of stakeholder and end-user communities.

Within its Science for Society programme, ESA has supported the development of a wide range of Earth-observation based solutions that address key stakeholder needs driven by International and European policies.

There is however still a need to engage with new users and stakeholders to maximise the uptake of these solutions, while also ensuring that the engagement with existing stakeholders continues following the end of each project.

The role of the SEF is to implement a systematic knowledge and capacity sharing service across different ESA-funded projects, continuing and expanding engagement with diverse stakeholder communities through a range of tailored approaches.

  • Perform a range of outreach and promotion activities to key target communities, bringing the applications to the users.

  • Providing dedicated support to potential users of the applications, through workshops, training events, helpdesk and on-site support.

  • Monitor the stakeholder and policy landscape, and gather user requirements for EO based applications addressing policy needs.
