A Deep Dive is a structured, hands-on engagement designed to help stakeholders tackle specific challenges using Earth Observation solutions — delivered through dedicated, one-to-one bilateral support.
Unlike general training sessions, Deep Dives are built around the concrete priorities the stakeholder define. We adapt to their local context, guiding them toward existing EO solutions that integrate seamlessly into their current workflows and decision-making processes — with the goal of generating practical, decision-relevant outcomes and a clear path toward implementation.
Deep dive process
Step 1 — Initial Assessment (1 meeting, ~60 min). The SEF begins by listening. In an initial conversation, we seek to understand the stakeholder's current use of geospatial data, internal technical capacity, planning and decision-making processes, and key priorities.
Step 2 — Co-Development of a Targeted Use Case (1–2 meetings over 2–3 weeks). Building on that foundation, the SEF team defines a focused Earth Observation application tailored to the stakeholder's context. We align it with the existing stakeholder's workflows and develop it step by step alongside their teams, ensuring it fits naturally into how they already work.
Step 3 — Hands-On Working Session (1 full day on-site or a ~2h online session). The process culminates in a dedicated working session with the stakeholder's staff. Together, we apply EO data directly to the identified challenge — with the goal of producing a concrete, decision-ready output their teams can act on immediately.
Step 4 — Wider presentation. SEF will present the work done to a wider audience within the stakeholder group.
