Webinar: Nature Restoration Regulation – How Earth Observation Supports Nature Conservation
Context
The EU Nature Restoration Regulation, adopted nearly a year ago, aims to restore ecosystems across Europe, on both land and at sea, through legally binding targets. It has defined seven fields of action and large-scale initiatives like planting 3 billion trees. For this ambitious framework to succeed, European countries are currently working on National Restoration Plans which are key for both the success of the regulation, but, more importantly, addressing the critical biodiversity loss. Aim of the webinar

About the Webinar Series
This webinar is part of a webinar series "EO Supporting Nature Conservation"
The aim of the webinar series is to strengthen the connections between the Earth Observation (EO) specialists and nature conservation and restoration professionals, inform them of the resources available and discuss barriers in implementing such solutions, identifying practical support that the EO community can offer.
The webinar series "EO Supporting Nature Conservation" has been organised since October 2024 as a result of a collaboration between Eurosite and ESA SEF. The previous three webinars covered topics such as EO for Habitat mapping (recording), Ecoschemes under CAP (recording) and Carbon stock assessment (recording).
